Eulogy

This piece is the result of reflections on the number of people who were important in supporting, encouraging, and guiding me along my musical interests that have passed on; family, friends, teachers, etc. The piece opens with a funereal section, representing the loss of not having these important figures around anymore. It then shifts into a melody I wrote around age 14, representing the importance of these mentor figures in my childhood. The piece concludes with a somewhat heroic theme, celebrating the importance of these people in my life.

This piece was composed for the Kamloops Community Band, as a gift to the band since I am a member.
