missa brevis pro mortuis

CAD$49.99

This six-movement requiem explores the emotional and spiritual journey from grief to peace, blending choral textures with a subtle piano accompaniment. Beginning with the heavy, forward-moving Introit, the work transitions into the mysterious and pleading Kyrie eleison, where the search for mercy rises briefly in urgency before returning to quiet wonder. The Offertory evokes chant-like mourning that gives way to a gentle hope, while the Agnus Dei offers serenity and harmonic depth beneath its simple exterior. In Lux Aeterna, a shimmering effect from the upper voices floats above a timeless, grounding foundation. The requiem concludes with In paradisum, a light and delicate farewell that contrasts the opening’s weight with a sense of release and peace.
